May 2021 - Love Note “Daily Practice”

Daily Practice - Time for YOU

A Daily Practice is time that you dedicate to YOU each day. Often, first thing in the morning is the best time of day for this. It is a time to be still and to listen to your inner wisdom. Some people like to include writing, meditation, prayers, gratitude, yoga, and/or reading. This is a really important part of cultivating joy, love, and peace in one's life.

Do you have a Daily Practice? If so, is it time to freshen it up and infuse it with new energy?

May 2021 - Love Note “Planting Seeds”

Planting Seeds

May is springtime in the northern hemisphere. May is all about the fullness of springtime, a time to plant seeds and incubate eggs. And then wait! Waiting is an integral part of mothering. In the same way, we each plant seeds of new ideas and new endeavors. We nurture these and patiently await for the new endeavor to show itself.

May 2021 - Love Note ”Turtle”

Welcome!

Last week, I introduced you to Turtle as our spirit animal for this month. Turtle Totem teaches us that we deserve the limitless nurturing energy from the Divine Mother. In Native American spirituality and other indigenous traditions, Mother Earth is that Divine Mother energy. Abundance is constantly flowing from Mother Earth to all of life. In all seasons, she provides every creature with food, water and shelter. She also inspires us with an abundance of magnificent landscapes, sunrises, and sunsets.

May 2021 Love Letter

Welcome to our very first Love Letter!

Celebrating The Divine Mother!

Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 9th in the United States where I live. We celebrate all mothers and all forms of mothering. We celebrate the mothers in our lives for the feelings of safety and deep sense of belonging that are the foundations of our success as human beings in the world.

Let’s think of the mothers in our lives: mothers, grandmothers, great-grandmothers, aunts, sisters, teachers, mentors, counselors, coaches, ministers. Some of you will even think of men in your life who nurtured you as a mother would. And for those who have/had significant pain around the relationship with your mother, take a moment to focus on the Divine Mother energy that is available to each and every one of us at all times, in every moment.

My Pimple Versus Your Lecture

Dear Teacher,

Why are we learning about World War I? Why do I need to know this?

Right now what I care most about is the huge, red pimple on my forehead. Everyone is looking at it and I am mortified. I tried to cover it up with concealer make-up but it wore off hours ago.

Another Chance, Please

Dear Teacher,

Please remember that I am a kid. I can't remember everything yet. My brain is developing and growing.

Give me a second chance... and a third chance...and a fourth.
Yeah, I know what you are going to say. "You won't get a second chance out in the real world."

Well, guess what? Yes I will and I have proof!

An Email to a Distressed Mom

From time to time, I write thoughtful emails to parent clients with my thoughts hoping to offer some nugget that might strike a chord and help them navigate their parenting journey. Often, I've thought, "I should post that email to a blog, maybe others want to read this email." So here is an email that I wrote today to a mother of a young boy who called me last week to inquire about my services. Maybe it strikes a chord for you.
